 |
BLACK EYED PEAS star Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson beat a crippling addiction to crystal meth with hypnotherapy.
She help bring her out of a condition which she now frankly admits was the worse point of her life. When drugs were “”the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with.”
Now the London Bridge singer – real name Stacy Ferguson – continues to undergo regular hypnotherapy sessions in a bid to help her find balance in her life. |
|
She says she will never forget how terrible her life was when, after her initial success – then failure – as part of female trio Wild Orchid, when she slipped into addiction.
Stacy, who began as a child actor before going into the music industry, explained: "It was a gradual thing. I got unhappy and for a while I did the drugs-and-club scene. I had a 'special relationship' with it.
"I started going a little nuts and hit rock bottom.”

She called her mother, confessed she had been doing crystal meth for a year and after achieving international status as a singer, found herself moving back into her old bedroom as a 25-year-old.
Agreeing to seek treatment, she turned to hypnotherapy and discovered that it provided the help she needed to recover from her addiction.
"I had to learn self-love and I learned it through hypnotherapy,” she explains.

“Hypnotherapy is not some fruity thing - it's not like you're going to a psychic or something. We just talk. Sometimes my therapist puts a box of tissues right in front of me, and I let it all out. She's amazing."
Fergie added: "It's like regular therapy. For the first 50 minutes I'll vent, and for the last 10 I'll do deep breathing to get into a more relaxed state.
"I'm always looking for ways to help me find balance. I'm lucky I got through the rough times. Now I'm able to enjoy life again."
