Down in the Dungeon ... therapy stirred

The London Dungeon turned to a hypnotherapist to help actors overcome their fears of rats and creepy crawlies.

For the Dungeons – among London’s favourite tourist attractions – found it had a problem with portraying the horrors of the 17th Century Black Death.

The plague was brought to the Capital by rats. So rats were employed to add authenticity … but several of the actors were deeply scared of their rodent co-workers.

Others working in the Dungeons were equally put off by other exhibits such as tarantulas, bats, and pythons.

The solution – recruit Cambridgeshire therapists Tania Cheslaw and use hypnosis to overcome the phobias. It worked.
